Database Packing
Ok. I just spent 5 hours packing the ASTPSDAT.DB file (500 MB in size), and how much space did we recover? 4 MB! WTF? We are pruning and purging records older than 6 months. Someone please tell me what I did wrong!
Thanks,
Paul.
Thanks,
Paul.

Re: Database Packing
Hi there.
What you should do is a reorg of the database.
Usually the space set free by purging will not be available immediately. The tables stay at the highwatermark, where they have been set by filling them. That will be gone after a reorganization ( export data, recreate database, import data back ).
