Error 46

We had a brief power outage and now my C1557a is saying "Error 46 EjectMagazine". However, when I press the eject button, it won't eject.

Anyone have any ideas what Error 46 means and any suggestions?

Hi Shon,

An Error 46 basically means that there has been a timeout waiting for the large disc on top of the unit (the one that rotates the magazine) to turn.

There is a recovery script available for this problem in the hp StorageWorks Library & Tape Tools (L&TT) application. Please try downloading this application (http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/ltt/index.html) and running the Error 46 Recovery script in the Test section.
