Error 87 with PAE

Ever since I enabled Physical Address Extensions, I cannot access my Ultrium 460 Backup device properly. I get a "Cannot Write to Device (87) The parameter is incorrect" error when I try to format a tape.

If I disable PAE, my backup device starts to work properly again, but I need PAE loaded.

Any advice? My box has 2003 Enterprise loaded with a AHA-2940U2W SCSI card. I am using HP Data Protector 5.1.
