Error : bad data

Hi,
When i take the backup on the tape it goes fine but when i restore the same data, i get the following error after enough time elapses ;

the device reported an error on a request to read data from media. Error : bad data

Moreover i have noticed that the CLEAN LED on the tape drives starts blinking after the error appears. I used the cleaning tape to clean it but still same problem persists.

please advice.

Hi,

Sounds like you have a faulty tape.

Try doing your backup to new media and see if the problem goes away...
