Every day a cleaning tape needed

As a service provider, we have to replace very often those tape drives, because cleaning tapes are not solving these problems.
This week, we have had this problem ourselfs. On our Proliant 3000 server we replaced the tape with an original spare from Compaq. Only 2 days later, backup jobs were cancelled when the Legato or SQL Backup softwares received messages to use the cleaning tapes.
Is there any final solution to solve these problems ?

I had been advised to try non-Compaq tapes. I haven't got round to buying new ones, but for your case it worth a try.
