Failed to transition to next tape
This autoloader has failed several times when it tries to transition to the next tape. It writes to the first tape until it's full and stays on that tape. Veritas backup 8.5 for Novell says that there was a hardware error and that it needs to be cleaned. I've done that several times and the problem persists. I've tried several different drives also. Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas on what to try?

Re: Failed to transition to next tape
Try using Compaq server diagnostics (promted) to test the tape handling of the physical device - if you can provide info on the model and firmware of the drive it would help in troubleshooting. You can also email support@compaq.com or call 1800-652-6672 for help
