Faulting Application cimserver.exe

I keep getting theese errors in the eventlog: Event id 1000, category (100).

Faulting application cimserver.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module pegserver.dll, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00027a73.

We installed Command View 7.0.0 first, then ran the installation for 7.0.1. Everything in the installation went fine.

Re: Faulting Application cimserver.exe

By default the -Xmx value in the JVMOptions.conf file is set to 1024m, but this may not always be the accurate value. To determine the accurate value for -Xmx, complete the following steps immediately after installing HP StorageWorks Command View EVA Software Suite 6.0.2:
1. In the command line, enter ":\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\pegasus_home\jre\bin\java" -Xmx1024m -version If the Java version number is returned, the default value of 1024m for -Xmx is correct.
If the Java version number is not returned, then retry the command with lower values till a value returns the Java version.
2. Add the value that returned the Java version as the -Xmx value in the JVMOptions.conf file located in the :\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\pegasus_home directory.

It wasn't a solution for us but please check yourself.

Re: Faulting Application cimserver.exe

Default CIMserver is running on ports 5988 and 5989 which conflicts on my side.
On port 5989 a JAVA.EXE was running?!
Changed port in
C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\pegasus_home\
cimserver_planned.conf
and restarted CIMserver.

It is working fine now.

Re: Faulting Application cimserver.exe

Hey thanks for the reply. What ports did you assign it to? Also does that affect the application at all?

Re: Faulting Application cimserver.exe

check with netstat -ab | find "" whether the port is free or not.
I took 5989 and 5990

Re: Faulting Application cimserver.exe

I have the same problem.

Checked the jre version and verified the ports but no luck.

Does anyone got a solution for this.

Now I just disabled the service, what does de cimserver do anyway?

Re: Faulting Application cimserver.exe

assumed cv eva 6.0.2 is running...

a new SMIS server is installed when installing cv eva 6.0.2 but it seems that the old one is still at the system.

We removed service hpSMISCIMOM and everything is working fine now.... finally

sc delete hpSMISCIMOM

do this twice, first time it deletes the service, second one marks the directories for deleting and reboot
