Fibre Channel to Tape Controller II

I have an old FCTT-controller that I cannot access. How do I connect to the serial port? (settings) to change the IP address so that I can access it via the ethernet connector ?
Where do I find any documentation on this Fibre Channel to tape controller?
The Library and Tape Tools do not discover the device properly nor does DataProtector.

I don't know the hardware, but connect via hyperterminal on a Windoze box and try the usual help/? type commands to find out how to find and modify the ethernet address.

I take it you're talking about a Fibre-SCSI bridge here. Documentation will depend on what make it is, so we'd need more information in order to help with that.
A sysadmin should never cross his fingers in the hope commands will work. Makes for a lot of mistakes while typing.

Re: Fibre Channel to Tape Controller II

Hello Stuart

it is a compaq model II with one or two scsi ports and a 1 Gb fibre channel port. It typically has HVD scsi ports (and the attached TL891 library has HVD as well then).
The FTTC model has an ethernet connector and a serial port in the back
The partnr is 152839-001
