Fibre channel DLT80 drives or autoloaders
I have a customer who needs to enable one DLT80 drive in a SAN (using fibre channel). I searched but I couldn't find any DLT80 drive or autoloader offered by HP matching this requirement.
Do they exist? If so, please point me to the right machine.
HTH,
Vince

Re: Fibre channel DLT80 drives or autoloaders
C7201RC (HVDS), C7200RC (LVDS) = 2/20 Galactica family with one DLT8000 drive;
Or use SCSI-FC bridge 4/1 or 2/1 for SCSI drives/libraries

Re: Fibre channel DLT80 drives or autoloaders
There is no native fibre channel DLT drive avilable. The only Native FC drives on the market I have found is:
StorageTek LTO Generation 2
StotageTek T9840/T9940
Exabyte Mammoth 2
To connect a DLT drive to FC you need a FC-bridge (or a library wit built in bridge), a rather expensive solution.

Re: Fibre channel DLT80 drives or autoloaders
Thanks for your information.
Eugeny: I didn't find the Galactica libraries in the HP site; they were replaced with the Compaq ones... I thought they are outdated now... I dunno.

Re: Fibre channel DLT80 drives or autoloaders
So are there any new products from Compaq which enables a DLT80 drive or autoloader to be attached through fibre channel in a SAN environment?
