Firmware Update HP C1553A DDS2 Autoloader

Hello,

maybe a simple Question.

I got an HP C1553A Autoloader with Firmware
Version 9406.
TapeTool won't update this Firmware.

I know this may prevent User for updating
wrong Firmware Versions, but to my Guess
my Firmware is too old for beeing updated.

Is there any possibility for updating?

I believe the last firmware version for these devices was 9608 and it should update.

You can update with an old DOS utility which runs in pure DOS with ASPI layers.

OR you can downloand and install LTT;

and 9608 is available there.

What's the error message if it's failing ??

Thanks for reply,

LLT says "wrong personality", I used the
old DOS-Utility, now the Loader Display says
"Error 64" - unable to recognize Loader Inventory.

That's it, maybe th Eprom is bad.

LLT now starts updating the Firmware but fails
with Timeout.

I thinks is dead.
