Firmware upgrade hp 1/8 sdlt autoloader wrong personality

Good Morning, I am trying to upgrade a hp storageworks 1/8 sdlt320 autoloader firmware L12r to firmware n12r to allow it to be used with veritas netbackup 5.1mp3. I am using HP Library and tape tools but it will not allow me to select the n12r firmware, in the selectable column it says "wrong personality" Is their anyway i can get this firmware on to this server.

Hi,

For HP StorageWorks 1/8 SDLT320 , autoloader firmware version L12r is the latest one alongwith Drive version V085.

The firmware N12r is meant for HP StorageWorks 1/8 ultrium 460 autoloader.

In your case , you are being saved by the in-built protection given by LTT against putting wrong firmware in a tape drive or library which would cause it inoperable. That is why it is giving "wrong personality" error.
