Format fails on 220mx
I'm using HP 220mx with ArcServe v9 on W2k Pro. When I try to format the new MO media, it gives me an error saying "Cartridge not in place". What could be the cause?
The Windows' RSM sees the disks fine.
Thanks

Re: Format fails on 220mx
Disable the Windows RSM service. The backup software wants to access the MO media exclusively.

Re: Format fails on 220mx
Stop your backup application and try with windows explorer. Try HP LTT http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/ltt/index.html
In this configuration you need RSM stopped permanently (in services of computer management) and ArcServe autochanger driver loaded

Re: Format fails on 220mx
I disabled RSM service. Windows Explorer offered to format the MO disk. The ArcServe does not seem to come with medium changer drivers! ArcServe shows device status fine but keeps showing "Updating" on the slots' status when inventorying .. Do I really need to disable RSM?
