Picking up a new SSL 1016 to add to out DLT7000 s/a drive. Just trying to confirm that the HBA is compatible with the new autoloader.
Per HP the compatible HBA's are: A6892A, A6828A, A5149A, A5150A, A6829A, A5150A 2port
Would like to hook it to the existing HBA, but how can I find the model number. ioscan shows:
ext_bus 4 0/12/0/0 c720 CLAIMED INTERFACE SCSI C875 Fast Wide Differential
target 12 0/12/0/0.5 tgt CLAIMED DEVICE
tape 1 0/12/0/0.5.0 stape CLAIMED DEVICE QUANTUM DLT7000
/dev/rmt/1m /dev/rmt/c4t5d0BEST
/dev/rmt/1mb /dev/rmt/c4t5d0BESTb
/dev/rmt/1mn /dev/rmt/c4t5d0BESTn
/dev/rmt/1mnb /dev/rmt/c4t5d0BESTnb
(hopefully that shows correctly...)

Solution
Robert,
currently you have a Fast Wide SCSI2, HVD (HighVoltage Differential) adapter (probably A4800). What you need is a LVD/SE SCSI3 card (you name the numbers).
Probably you have this card in slot 11 of an L3000 (rp5470). So you need to add a new card *and* for the slot with new card you should set the scsi rate to "nolimit".
See the install guides for the appropriate card.
Regards,
Bernhard

Re: HBA Identification - to check compat with SSL 1016
It appears you are correct. Someone finally had the bright idea of looking at the service contract. They are all A4800A's. So it looks like I'm going to be looking to pick up a A5149A too.
Thanks,
rfp
