Re: HP C5683A Tape Drive problems
Hello,
You may have entered a bad tape, or the mechanism is not working properly.
Give it another cleaning cycle to switch off the "clean" LED, then try to use new tapes. If the problem persists, you may have a bad drive.
HTH,
Vince

Paul,
for your DAT drive to live long life clean it every 20 tape pulling hours or after 5 full backups (usually after business week)

Re: HP C5683A Tape Drive problems
Try a *new* cleaning cartridge. If the problem persists call your HP CE and get the drive replaced. Over-cleaning of tape drives *will* result in the premature head wearing of the drive. Only clean drives when they ask to be.
