Thank you re the safest backup but I am still stuck in that I cannot do a full backup. First I am having trouble disabling my screen saver -how do I do that?
Then it locks up on files such as the back-up program (Colorado HP) itself.
I am using a new tape and it has no trouble at all backing up changes only.
Thanks again.
Karen

Solution
See my comments in your other query (the one with the rabbit.)
Assuming a Windows platform, right click on the desktop, choose properties, choose screen saver - with luck you can turn things off fairly easily.
Unfortunately, you may have an aftermarket screen saver that is a little more problematic. The solution is to un-install the aftermarket screen saver, or work with the manufactuer/developer to deal with its issues. Easier said than done, I know. I have this problem on MY WIFE'S PC at home. She likes the cute little puppy dog graphics. Sigh.

Omniback and NT problems? double check name resolution, DNS/HOSTS...
