HP DLT VS80

hello there!
we have a problem here on our HP DLT VS80 can't back-up our data, it has an "EXCLAMATION POINT" on the device using the application
"TAPEWARE BACK-UP v.7.0" by Yosemite.
what is the meaning of this error?
what is the solution to back-up again our data?

tnx.

Re: HP DLT VS80

Hi Neil,

Having an exclamation mark on your device suggests that the device, i.e. your DLT VS80, was disconnected and then reconnected to the system or switched off and then back on, and Tapeware can no longer find the drive as it originally mapped to it. Without knowing which operating system you're using I'd advise you to look in Tapeware's device list and see if you've got another device there with no exclamation mark. If you do what you need to do is go to your backup job properties, delete the target device and add the new device without the exclamation mark.

Also, check all your cable connections. Make sure that the tape drive is properly connected to the SCSI adapter. Also check that your operating system can see your device. Look in Device Manager or equivalent for your operating system.

Hope this helps,
Russell

Re: HP DLT VS80

Hi Neil:
Try the following:

Further to Russell's comment:

To specify a device for use by TapeWare:
1. Open the TapeWare Administrator.
2. Select the Backup Tab.
3. Right click the Backup Job.
4. Select Properties.
5. Click the Options Tab.
6. For each entry in the device box, select it, and select Delete.
7. Select the Add button.
8. Expand the network and select the tape drive you would like to use.
9. Select OK.
10. Select OK to finalize the selection.

Let us know the progress
