HP E1200-320 firmware update failed
we have a lot of trouble with our MSL6030. The MSL always lost their drives during a backup job. We called HP support center but these couldn´t help us. Today I figured out that the SCSI to FC bridge controller has an old firmware. Now, I tryed to update to a new firmware wit HP L&TT software. During the update it happend, new firmware couldn´t be written because the device did not become ready after 600 seconds.
I have called again the HP support center but they didn´t called back right now. We have a carepack for this device but maybe someone here have a good idea how I could get this controller back to work?
Best regards.

Re: HP E1200-320 firmware update failed
have you tried to update the firmware by using the serial cable?
Regards,
Patrick

Re: HP E1200-320 firmware update failed
I have no possibilities to connect a serial cable because the tape library is over 400km away. I am hopeful HP will call me soon or I will get no backup tonight.
Best regards

Re: HP E1200-320 firmware update failed
can you take a look into the eventlog of the NSR? Can you access it by IP?
Regards,
Patrick

Re: HP E1200-320 firmware update failed
You need the *.dlx file, e.g.
5.9.63_HP_fw_Winston_ppc_x.dlx
Just connect via FTP and "put" the file.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
