Re: HP LTO-7 External Tape drive Platform

funny thing is HP dont make an LTO7 its just a rebadged IBM drive now.

LTO7 uses 6GB sas so aslong as your server can take a 6Gb sas card (PCI-E) it should work fine.

Windows 7 works with any LTO drive

Re: HP LTO-7 External Tape drive Platform

I doubt it is "rebadged" - why do you think so?
all LTO 6 at least are made by IBM or HPE, even quantum sells the HPE drives.

We are waiting for the "flape" now ...

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Hi

https://www.hpe.com/uk/en/product-catalog/storage/tape-drives-and-enclosures.html

you can clearly see this is an ibm drive, even the flap is ibm.  and quantums LTO7 is an ibm drive also the firmware is G9Q1, which is ibm. i was also told this is the case

Hi

IBM drive - http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTA2NlgxNjAw/z/E7YAAOSwzJ5Xf9GX/$_1.JPG?set_id=880000500F

HP drive - https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0235/7543/products/20160914_135920_1024x1024.jpg?v=1474466596

HP lids only cover the top and are held on by 4 screws at the top, ibm drives the lid covers the sides also and are the screws that hold it on are on the side.
