HP MSL4048 LTO-6 library restore LTO-3 cartridges

Hello
 
We recently purchased new HP MSL4048 LTO-6 tape library.
Until that time we were writing to LTO-3 tapes.
 
Will we be able to restore data on LTO-3 tapes from new tape library?

LTO can write/read one generation back and read 2 generations back, so unfortunately not.
Just checked the Quickspecs and they confirm the same.
However if you are not using the max amount of tape drives in the MSL you could of course just put 1 older generation tape drive (960?) in the MSL just to be able to restore from old tapes.

Be careful that the tapes do not get mixed up though.
