HP OPTICAL STORAGE LIBRARY 1000UX

HI ,
i recently installed a new HP OPTICAL STORAGE LIBRARY 1000UX ,and attached it to an IBM server (i installed a Ultra 3 VHD, LVD SCSI Channel card) in the server to connect it to the Jukebox
the server can detect the library and manage it by a the Q-START software to make tha backup
all the tests works well for 10 days after that i can not access the archive data from the QSTART program so i should restart the server to work again ,
every 5 or 6 days i have the same problem , i have to restart the server to redetect the library
can someone give me some information about what could it be the problem ?

you should investigate a bit if you have scsi errors in the logs related to the scsi HBA, it may be you have some errors, and due to time out the device disconnect, then a reboot is need to rediscover the device

the OS on the server windows 2003 server ,
at the device manager always it shows that the scsi interface is well identified ,
sorry the server is a BULL server not IBM .
so i have to check if there is SCSI errors at the Event logs ??
is it possible the problem is from the library or it is not probably the problem ??

Hard to says with these info who is the culpit, but analysing sense code collected by Q-star and analysing the errors logged in the system event logs, you may understand what's happened

in the system event log , i have this error
le peripherique \Device\Scsi\symmpi1 n'a pas repondu dans le delai imparti ,

does that mean something ??

I would install LTT and do an assessment test and look into the support ticket first.
