Hello,

I've got a problem with the backup.
We use HP Open View Storage Data protector, Product version A.05.10.
Iâ ve serious problem with it - Data protector display such message - timeout of 7200 seconds (please see attached) â and backup is failed, but I can restore files from backup.

So my question is. What is this and how to resolve this?

Hello,

the message seems to be from the media agent. DP is trying to contact anoterh host to use it's tape drive. DP can't reach the host and is using another free drive that is configured in that backup job.

Try to restart the omniback on the specified host, that isn't reachable. You can test it with

telnet hostname 5555

Hit enter and the DP agent should give you a short message with hostname and versionnumber.

This fails happens only with Filesystem Backup (please see attached)
If it is possible tell me by steps about your solution.

The attached files are not showing the root problem just the results. You need to look into the inet and debug files on the servers involved.

It looks like one of the agent processes may have aborted or hung. The message you are seeing is from one of the OTHER agents that finally got tied of waiting for the hung or aborted process and terminated.
