HP Storageworks SMI-S CIMServer service

The above service does not start correctly after upgrading CommandViewTL to 2.3.1.
I get the following error CIMSERVER.EXE encountered a problem and needed to close. The event log says faulting module pegserver.dll. Has anyone run into this problem?

Did you try completely uninstalling CV-TL and then reinstalling it.

Re: HP Storageworks SMI-S CIMServer service

Found this in the release notes

Symptom: Upgrading from any previous release of Command View TL to version 2.2 or above may report an error message when upgrading the HP SMI-S Tape Provider that reads "Setup could not uninstall CIMOM". Clicking "OK" on this message continues with the upgrade and version 2.2 of Command View TL is correctly loaded. Any future attempt to uninstall Command View TL also report this error. The HP SMI-S Tape Provider is still installed at the previous version.

Workaround: Command View TL must be uninstalled before the full upgrade to 2.2 can succeed without errors. If you have already seen this error and have continued with the upgrade, please take the following steps:

Uninstall Command View TL through the "Add or Remove Programs" section of your Control Panel. You will see the same error message when uninstalling - click "OK".
Uninstall the "HP StorageWorks SMI-S CIMOM" program in the "Add or Remove Programs" section of your Control Panel.
Re-install the 2.2 version of Command View TL - this install should not report the same error message.

Found in Version: 2.2 (and above)

This does look like what you saw?

Re: HP Storageworks SMI-S CIMServer service

No I haven't. Uninstall and re-install did not work for me. I still got the error.
I ended up changing the services so that it wouldn't start automatically.

Re: HP Storageworks SMI-S CIMServer service

Default CIMserver is running on ports 5988 and 5989 which conflicts on my side.
On port 5989 a JAVA.EXE was running?!
Changed port in
C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\pegasus_home\
cimserver_planned.conf
and restarted CIMserver.

It is working fine now.
