Can I use DDS tapes in the above mentioned tape libraries ?
What is the difference between DDS and Ultrium drives.
Thanks,

Re: HP Sure Store 6/140 Ultrium.
Hi there.
The tape is different. Ultrium is something like a DLT, where the density of the medium is higher as on the DDS. The storing technique is also different ( magnetizing the medium ).
By the way, these tapes are 32 mm wide, so they will not fit into DDS cassettes anyway.
The storage rate is 100 GB uncompressed ( native) or 200 GB with hwardware compress.
Ask your vendor, where you can egt these tapes,
but do not drop dead because of the cost.
