HP Sure store E tape library 4/60 problem

Hi everybody!
I have HP Sure store E tape library 4/60 attached to a hp UX L class (rp5450) server, whenever I load a new 200GB tape in drive 4 and start the backup, after backing up 100GB of data it will ask me to change the tape because it is full. Any help? please.

Some indication of what backup tool you are using, and how you are initiating the backup might help... possibly you are using a device file that doesn't enable compression...

Re: HP Sure store E tape library 4/60 problem

Also not that: I am using Ultrium 100/200GB Low
voltage Differential SCSI drive module.
Best regards!

Re: HP Sure store E tape library 4/60 problem

Hi

If you do a backup on compressed data, capacity for Ultrium1 is 100GB.
For 200GB a 2:1 compression is needed.
What sort of data do you backup?

Re: HP Sure store E tape library 4/60 problem

hi, can you tell what device file is the backup application using to access the drive?
the ones ending in BEST are the ones that have compression enabled. If you can use these ones, it will be the way to go.
