HP Surestore Tape Autoloader Model 1/9
I have this old autoloader that we have stopped using. It was using old DLT IV tapes with 40/80 capacity. Doing searches on the internet i find references to the same product with same model number using 100/200 and 360/720 tapes. Can mine use these higher capacity tapes? HP Product number C9241CB
Thanks

Re: HP Surestore Tape Autoloader Model 1/9
hi,
the max it can write to is 40/80 compressed, however it can read higher tapes from the SDLT drives.
see this link for more details

Re: HP Surestore Tape Autoloader Model 1/9
If i can only write to a 40/80, does that mean this ad i found for the same product is misleading?

Re: HP Surestore Tape Autoloader Model 1/9
Todd,
The capacity showing there is the total of 9 cartridges (which is the amount of tapes this autoloader can hold inside) times the capacity of the tape, let's say:
1 DLT IV (40GB Native, 80GB Compressed capacity) x 9 = 360GB/720GB
Regards,
