HP Surestore default password

I have an HP Surestore Autoloader 1/9 DLT, model C9240CB. I have no idea what the default password is to access the admin functions. It appears that the device is no longer supported by HP as a search on their site for the model number comes up empty.

Anyone here know what the default password is?

Thanks,
Mike

Re: HP Surestore default password

The service guide for a similar model (SSL1016) says that by default there is no password, but if one is set then you need to "call your customer service representative". It may be the same thing here...

The 1/9 autoloader is still a supported product (although no longer sold).

If you go to the support top level page:
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

and enter "surestore 1/9 autoloader".

There is no default password, so if a password is set, it was set by a previous user.

You can call HP:
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/contact_us.html

And tell them you lost your password. They will ask for some info, and can generate a recovery password for you.

Here's a related posting (the 2/20 uses the same controller as the 1/9):
