HP surestore autoloader 1/9

I'm having problems with my 1/9 using Veritas Netbackup DataCenter 4.5 fp6. The problem is Veritas will not update my barcodes(after adding new tapes with barcodes) because slots 7, 8, and 9 are not viewable to Netbackup. I haven't seen a message to update the firmware on the front panel . The self-test passes all the tests, so the drive appears to be fine. Any help is welcome!

Are tapes in 7,8,9 viewable from front panel of autoloader?

The HP 1/9 has tapes in slots 7 -9.

The barcodes are not viewable from the front panel in slots 7,8, and 9. However, the barcodes (1-6) are viewable from the front panel.

Please check your inventory using the front panel and see if the autoloader is finding slots 7/8/9. The mechanism for runing an inventory on those slots is slightly different from the front slots. I'm wondering if maybe the autoloader isn't finding those tapes.

You can also use L&TT to diagnose the problem, it will report slots and tapes, and you can attach here the Support ticket you create for a review

Does the LTT tool work with RHEL 2, 3, and 4?

Slots 7,8,9 show no tapes or they show blank labels?

# things may effect label recognition:

- Autoloader Firmware level
- Quality of labels
- Picker(transport) reader could be faulty

Thank all of you for the support, the problem was the faulty transport arm...I had it replaced and upgraded the firmware. All works great again...Thanks!!
