HP tape externat DAT72 problem with sql backup

Hello all,
I have installed the HP DAT72 external tape to our server(win2003) but i can't make it work with SQL enterprise manager. The problem is that the "tape" option at the SQL enterprise manager(2000) is not enabled/recognised and i can't take backup to tape. Is it a driver problem or SQL Emanager problem?

Hi Georgey,

To confirm that you can open the Native NT backup window in your windows OS where the Drive is connected, create and run a backup job. This will confirm the status of the Tape drive.

Other possible way is to download the Library and tape tools application, install it and check the Drive status there

I feel this is a config issue in your SQL manager though i am not an expert in SQL.
