Help with DPX Error 3020 Object not found on orphaned symbolic links

Greetings and a Happy New Year to everyone.

Does anyone know why, or how to resolve the issue of Data Protector Express on Linux raising Error 3020: Object not found errors when attempting to backup an orphan symbolic link ?

Surely the link should be backed up without a problem as the only data the file contains is the symbolic path.
