Is Compaq TL881 mini tape library different from compay tape library TL891.

Hi,

We have a compaq mini taple library TL891.
However the console reads, it as TL881.
Are these two different tape libraries ?

Thanks and Regards

I believe the difference is in the tape drive density capabilities.

The TL881 is (from what I understand) a single TZ88 drive in a library with a 10-tape magazine. A TL882 would be with 2 drives.

The TL891 and TL892 are the TZ89 drive versions of 1 and 2 drives. (or DLT7000 using the Quantum name)

There is also the TL891DLX, which is the library with a DLT8000 (Quantum drive naming convention now, I don't believe there was ever a TZxx name for that DLT drive).
