Is there a way to restart the TL891 from a console/hyperterminal interface?

Occasionally I get errors from tapes that are going bad which result in my library going offline in Veritas Backup Exec 8.6. I need a way to restart the TL891 library without having to go to the office and physically flip the power switch to reboot it.

Hi Chris,

Yes. The problem you have is not all that unuaual. You can use a Hyperterminal session over comm line (RS232) or Ethernet to control libraries and tape drives with an OmniServe from TD Systems.
