Is this an acceptable rate for our backups

System Info:

- Currently we get 62.5mb/min
- Netware 5
- Veritas 8.5
- Server (Compaq Proliant 3000)
- 15/30 Compaq DLT

Is 62.5 about the best we can do, or is there room for optimization?

Hello Dave!

Try to upgrade the firmware of the DLT, and test some other device setting in the Veritas (buffer, block size). With this to mods I succeded to increase the rate from 260 MB/m to 340 MB/m on a DLT7000, Proliant 3000, Veritas 7.0, FastEthernet.
