Issues with Remote Management Interface to MSL5026

We are using an MSL5026 Tape Library with one SDLT drive. The unit is attached to an OpenVMS AlphaServer ES40. The library is managed locally by the MSL5026.

I can access library functions using the MSL touch screen GUI with User Level 2.

However, I am having some issues with the Remote Management Interface (RMI), namely:
1> The library Status view is correct only immediately after the MSL has conducted a physical inventory (by removing and reinserting the magazine). Subsequent tape movements are not reflected in the Status view from the RMI. The original Status view remains frozen until the next physical inventory.

2> When I logon to the RMI using the default password for Level 2 access (the same password that I use on the GUI touch screen), "Move Media" and functions including Drive Cleaning and Diagnostics are "Unavailable". I do however have access to the Library Configuration function.

What is the firmware version you are running on the library?

Re: Issues with Remote Management Interface to MSL5026

Not sure if this is the reason, but you should update to the latest -> version 520.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
