L200 replaced and controller not showing up with ioscan on J5000
L200 was just replaced due to autoloader failure and the new one doesn't show up. The drive shows up with ioscan but not the library controller. It is attached to a J5000 which has been rebooted several times.
I think this replacement may have the wrong FW on it but the bad one won't power up and I can't find a matrix to show which FW should be on it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
FW=129
HW=64
This is a rebranded Quantum autoloader and I just need to find out if this is the correct FW for the HP system to communicate with.
Thanks,
Jamie

Re: L200 replaced and controller not showing up with ioscan on J5000
Hi,
i do not know the hw in question, but if it show up in the ioscan but no special file has been created, usually it's a sw problem.
check the scsi addressing, and after that try to recreate manually the special file.
Which hpux are you using ?
Massimo

Re: L200 replaced and controller not showing up with ioscan on J5000
Jamie,
What is the output of:
'ioscan -fnC autoch'
or just run 'ioscan -fn' followed bu 'insf -e' (insert special files to create the device files).
Required firmwares can be found at http://www.quantum.com/am/service_support/compatibility/default.htm and downloaded from http://www.quantum.com/AM/service_support/downloads/default.htm
Check also your connections to the library, it might just be a bad contact some where in the SCSI chain.
best regards,
Kurt
