Does anyone know where I can get these THIS WEEK?

I've tried all the usual suspects in the UK
[XMA, Orion, MicroP]

They say:
1] "5 days' lead-time sir"
2] "We can do Maxell or Blah Blah today, but not HP 'brand'

The highest up the chain we can get don't have stocks
No one seems to be 'Direct with HP' until you're up there with Morse & CSC

Having no basis for comparison and being "pound-challenged" anyway, I had no idea whether that was a good price or not. Knowing HP, I kind of doubted it though.

Well, if you need something in short supply on a short fuse, you generally have to pay a premium.

I'm pound-challenged too, but that price doesn't look so bad: Microwarehouse sells C7921A (LTO1) for US$54.95, and C7922A (LTO2) for $119.95. Their UK site doesn't show C7922A, but has C7921A for 59.99 pounds. Are you sure about your specification?

The hp brand is therefore 55% more than non-hp

Off brands are cheaper than genuine HP everywhere. Your spec was for the HP product, and you seemed to indicate that "Maxell or Blah Blah" was not acceptable. I'm confused. (Not an abnormal state for me). ;)
