LTO Tape working

Dear experts,

I want to know about how tape is working. Can we retrieve only last time written data on tape or we can get information of every written data on tape.

Hello Pardeep ,

You should be able to reterieve the data from the tape . Irrespective of  the last back up job done or from the previous backup as long as the data is available in the tape and it also depends on condition that there are no multiple media related errors or physical damage to the tape itself .

I think the answer is based on what backup software you used to write the tape and not really a function of LTO tape.
