Re: LTO2 Block Size

I have rad the man page on mt, but it does not state anything about block size, just how to rewind, fast forward, eject, position, etc the tape.

Re: LTO2 Block Size

There is another option
diskinfo, try that one with the tape inside.

Re: LTO2 Block Size

Hello, the diskinfo does give more information and the size of the tape, but not the block size used to write the tape. Any other suggestions???

Re: LTO2 Block Size

Hum, ops :)
wrong one, it was tapeinfo

but it only works to read a media that was already written and retrieve the blocksize and all.

#tapeinfo -f /dev/sg*

something like it

Re: LTO2 Block Size

Well I do not have that utility. The only tapeinfo I have is in the STM and then it wants an HP rep to enter a code. I also have not man page for tapeinfo. Are you sure this is for HPUX????

Hum, yes! I forgot, this is part of the mtx program, you can get it here

http://mtx.opensource-sw.net/

It works in HPUX as well.

Re: LTO2 Block Size

OK, now I'm the one that is confused :)
I used it in 11.11 with tapeinfo and it gives me:

Usage: tapeinfo hardware_path

although there is no man pages, it seems that it's available.
