LTO2 manual tape removal.

I have a Overland data Neo2000 box with 2 HP Ultrium drives. Today I noticed that it would not intialize correctly and looked inside and a tape was crooked inside the drive. I pulled the drive and did not see any manual release. Am I missing something???? Every other drive I have ever used had a manual release. Is there a way to get it out or I am screwed?

Dennis -
On the side there should be a spindle to rewind. Other than that, we have taken the top plate off the drive to remove hopelessly bound tapes.
