LTO3 and LTO2
I have just upgraded the system here to a ML6000 with an LTO3 drive. The previous backups were on the same type of library however they were on LTO2 tapes to suit the old drive.
Now when I try to do a restore (using these older LTO2 tapes) the import media function in dataprotector seems to never finish?
Can't it just read the older media?
Am I missing somehting here?

Re: LTO3 and LTO2
LTO3 can read tapes from LTO2, so it should not be a problem to read the tape.
how did you import the tape into DP? did you try to 'list content from tape'?

Re: LTO3 and LTO2
Agree yes it should be backward compatible. Thanks for the reply.
All I have done is insert the tape, scan the barcode, and then select "Import" from the devices sub menu.
I have also tried selecting "Import Catalogue" from the menu, same result.
It doesnt seem to be hung, it just starts the job and seems to never finish.
Thanks for the reply anyway, open to suggestions.
