Re: Library has a hard error
That error almost always means that the drive has failed it's power on self test and is no longer communicating with the library but it is also possible with DLT drives that they may have a dropped leader and in some conditions they won't communicate with the library controller anymore when that happens.
You don't say what kind of library or drive. I'm guessing a SureStore 6/20 from the error messages but can't guess what drive type.
You could try the libraries "Force Unload" front panel test to get the tape out of the drive and see if it can run after that. If it is a DLT drive and Force Unload works then you should pull and repair the drive.
