I have 1 MSL 2024 G3 library and a ML 370 G5 server which data protector 5.50 is installed on it (windows 2003 Enterprise SP2.
The problem is:
the server recognizes the MSL and 1 ultrium 960 drive in device manager which I have disabled them manualy as OVDP works with its own drivers. But:
In OVDP when I want to autoconfigure the MSL library in OVDP devices,OVDP does not recognizes the MSL's ultrium drive as the MSL drive and shows it as an standalone drive.
I do not the problem is from the MSL configurations or OVDP?
I will appriciate anybody who helps me in this case by a good point(10 points).
Thanks,
Alireza Babri

Re: MSL 2024 G3 in Data Protector (problem configuring the device)!
use dual LUNs to control the tape drive (LUN 0) and library robotic (LUN 1). These models require an HBA that supports LUN scanning and LUN scanning must be enabled.

I don't recall exactly what drivers I had to update. The documentation at http://www.hp.com/go/ebs may help.

Re: MSL 2024 G3 in Data Protector (problem configuring the device)!
# disabled removable storage service
# update scsi tab file to latest with DP5.5
# unless you have scsi storeport drivers installed for the scsi card you need to either update to scsi miniport and disable windows drivers or let windows drivers enabled [the above you can do anyways]
%omniroot%\devbra -dev should report tape drive ID
