MSL 2024 MediumChanger Driver

HI

OS: Windows 2000 Server
MSL 2024 is connected to a DL 380 G3 and the L & TT Ver 4.5 and the Latest Drivers were used but it recognizes only the Tape Drives but not the Medium changer.
Tried Reinstall and update but failed. Still ! mark is there.

Drivers are downloaded from:

Re: MSL 2024 MediumChanger Driver

What Backup software are you using.. Have you tried to download the relevant driver from the backup software supplier?

Re: MSL 2024 MediumChanger Driver

I suspect the back up software is showing this as a standalone drive and not medium changer.

However, this is a LUN Library and can not be connected to a RAID controller. RAID cards do not support LUN. A non-RAID HBA is needed.

Recommended HBA's for your server are here:

Re: MSL 2024 MediumChanger Driver

Additionally, if device manager sees a medium changer and a tape drive then it is a software problem.

If you are using Backup Exec they provide Symantec drivers... these should be downloaded and installed.

Generic HP or Microsoft drivers should be avopided as these do not provide the best configuration for aiding proper communication with the tape device.

Always use the drivers procedure ductated by the backup software you are using.
