MSL 6000 Library and Network Storage Router e1200-160

Hi guys!
need help in configuring Network Storage Router e1200-160.
Recently I've conected via Serial cable from my laptop to router'a jack marked "Serial". I've changed it's IP, network mask and default gateway. Then I saved new configuration and rebooted router. In the booting process of router I can see bios version, firmware etc., but on the step of configuring network interface I get the following error:

Attaching interface lnoPci0....done
and then I get "no carrier"
fault code 00000003
and router reboots, and the situation occured.
I've checked all physical connections, everything was ok.
I wonder what the problem could be?
I'll be very appreciated if someone helps me

If you unplug the ethernet cable, does the router reboot OK? Once it is rebooted and you login through the serial connection, are the changes you made (e.g. IP address) still there?

What happens if to reconnect the ethernet cable after the router is already up and running?
