A couple of questions that the forum may be able to help me with :-
1) On the Ultrium 200/400GB Tapes I don't appear to get anything like 400GB of data copied. I'm using HP DataProtector production version A.05.10. None of my data is compressed
2) I have seen that there is now a 400/800 GB tape available. Is this compatibile with the MSL6030 ?

Solution
Keith,
1. You must use the correct device file at OS level to have hardware compression on the LTO tapes. This is OS dependent, eg on:
HPUX: use /dev/rmt/0mn
Windows: use scsi1:0:0:0C or tape1:0:0:0C
2. The new LTO tapes require a new tape drive. So you cannot use them.
best regards,
Kurt

Re: MSL 6030 Autoloader questions
Hardware compression had been switched off for some reason. I am now getting above 350 GB of data on the tapes
