I'm using MSL 6030 tape libarary with hpux's native backup commands. but everytime i have to load/unload the tape manually. I want to have a solution which can help me automatic loading and unloading of the tapes.
Thanks and regards

Re: MSL 6030 Backup
You can handle MSL tape libraries with the command mc
ie : robotarm is /dev/rac/c9t0d0
Status of library
mc -p -r ISDM
Move tape from slot 9 to drive 0
mc -p /dev/rac/c9t0d0 -s S9 -d D0
Unload tape from drive 0 to slot 9
mc -p /dev/rac/c9t0d0 -s D0 -d S9
See also man mc

Re: MSL 6030 Backup
Using a library as the MSL 6030 without a Backup software/media management system seems rather unconvinient. Yes, you can use "mc" for loading unloading medias but, how to keep trach of which media is used and protection time.
Have a look at HP Data Protector.
