MSL2024 1 drive for 2 proliant 380 G5 BE 12.5

Hi,
we have 1 msl2024 with 1 drive that we would like to share between our 2 production servers.
SCSI ID are fine : one server is set to 7 the other on is set to 5.
On each server, we have installed a full BE 12.5 server.
It is possible to inventory the library on each server, but not to perform a backup (E00084ED error - which is a typical scsi terminaison error).
Any suggestion ?
Many thanks for your help.

Each server is directly attached to the msl2024 (with hp cable).

You need to use FC and a FC switch in order to share the MSL2024 between two hosts. even if the LTO FC have to FC ports, the drive itself is not able do deal with multipath, so you should only access from one FC port at a time, and your Hosts should be managed by the backup application using reservation system in order to not cause trouble during backups.

Using a Y cable to attach two hosts to a SCSi LTO is not supported by HP,

and in any case you can run LTT diagnostic to troubleshoot SCSI connectivity issues
It may be that during the backup, the other host do not receive a TUR due to high activity on the scsi bus then it issue a SCSI bus reset or similar command causing the backup to stop with that error.
So check first with LTT is the scsi but is ok and working in LVD at expected speed, then try to disconnect one of the hosts, and do some tests in that direction.
But remember HP will never support your configuration, and it has never been tested.
