The backup starts ok but after a random amount of data I get an "Unexpected SCSI Sense Code" error and the backup job fails.
If I disable the HP Insight Storage Agents service the backup completes at 1.4TB.
MSL FW is 5.00/B59W and PSP v8.60 is installed.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Do you need that service?
Should it be enabled?

SolutionSee http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932755 for details on setting that.
Note that the registry entry should be checked after every firmware update. If the OS creates a new entry for the drive with the new firmware then that value must be created again.

Re: MSL2024 SC11Xe Windows 2008 R2 scsi sense error
I'll try the reg key and see if that solves the issue. I don't want to keep the service disabled as it reports useful information.
Incidentally I have a W2K3 server with this card and an MSL4048 and I've never had to configure it like this.

Re: MSL2024 SC11Xe Windows 2008 R2 scsi sense error
Managed to do 2 x 600GB backups so I'm satisfied with that. I could only stream about 20GB to tape previously.
