Any thoughts on where to start? Has anyone experienced this?

Re: MSL4048 2 x LTO4. Second Drive goes off line during backup
Environment is LD380G5. HBA is HP AE312A Dual Port FC addapter. Direct cabled to MSL4048.
Backup Exec sees drive 1 as HP1, Drive two as HP2 and Autoloader as HP3. backup was diretced at HP3. It didn't work. redirected to drives and it worked, but very slow.
The second drive continues to go offline. The autoloaader continues to show as online, only the drive.
Tpae Utility shows the MSL Library as
Firmware: 6.7
SCSI tartget LUN: 1
No of Drives: 1
Slots: 48
No of Mail Slots: 0
Drive 1 shows:
Firmware: H49W/MSL3G 4Gb
SCSI Target ID: 0
SCSI LUN: 0
OBDR: Not Present
Worm: Present.
Can you help us on what we do to get the drive online?

Re: MSL4048 2 x LTO4. Second Drive goes off line during backup
We've cycled drives. Last night we updated HP Qlogic drivers for the HBA. The latest backup is working better. But confidence is still low.
Library Connection Question:
We have connection set to "Auto". Is this OK? Or should it be set to "Loop"?
HBA is dual port. We connected both ports. Is this needed? Could we have a termination issue?

Re: MSL4048 2 x LTO4. Second Drive goes off line during backup
Its still working OK after 24 hours.
On a test backup using files from the DL380 G5 server to the library we get 5G a minute throughput. We are hapy with that
But when we do a test backup from files sitting on an external MSA30 connected via a Smart Array 6402, we only get 20% of the performance.
Why would the backup from U320 drives and a U320 controller be one fifth the speed of the servers internal SAS drives?
Any ideas?
