MSL4048 Tape Library Hardware Encryption
Dear All,
I have enabled hardware encryption for the tape library and generate 1 key for the encryption. However, I am not sure if the hardware encryption is working or not since I failed to backup to tape with Arcserve r16. It stated that there is a hardware encryption error.
Do I need to create keys for all the tapes? Encryption is enabled, do I still need to set to encrypt tapes one by one?
Thanks
Best Regards,
Elroy

Re: MSL4048 Tape Library Hardware Encryption
Hello,
On a MSL you need HP StoreEver 1/8 G2 & MSL Tape Library Encryption Kit
Hardware encryption is not supported in LTO 2 & 3 formats.
There is no need to create keys for all the tapes. All encryption info will be stored and maintained by the Encryption kit.
