MSL4048 /Windows 2008 R2 Drivers

Could anyone direct me to the location of the drivers for an MSL4048 (LTO 5-SCSI)

Hopefully this will allow me to format media with a block size of 1024 (instead of maximum 512)

I have heard that its possible to set the block size using the following reg key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
SYSTEM\
CurrentControlSet\
Services\
qla2300\
Parameters\
Device\
MaximumSGList= 65

For 1024 block size MaximumSGList should be set to 257 (blocksize/4 +1)

Try these links, all software versions depending on what model drive you are using.

The parameter you set in the QLA2300 (maxSGList) is related to the data transfert
If you want to increase the block size used to write data to the tape you should modify the parameter in your backup application.
But usually 256K is the best value, going to 512K or 1025K (yes Kbyte) usually do not show performance increase and in some conditions may also reduce it.
You can try youself using LTT "dev perf" test, and try to found the best value based on the kind of data you have
